Yin/Yang and Kundalini Yoga
Yin/Yang Yoga
- Tuesday 7.30pm – Megan
- Thursday 9.30am – Krystle
This class leaves you feeling open and deeply relaxed, Class starts with a flowing/vinyasa style class, warming and opening the body then moving into Yin style postures, which are supported and passive. Best suited for those with some yoga experience.
Yin yoga uses long, passive holds to work on the deep, dense connective tissues of the body–the tendons, ligaments and cartilage–which are difficult to energize and open. Yin yoga has the greatest benefit when practiced before a more active asana practice, not afterward. When we work actively, the pranic flow and circulation are directed into the muscles and superficial connective tissues. The prana (or life force) stimulates and tones the joints’ deep connective tissues, increasing the supply of fluids to them, making them less dense and enabling them to stretch appropriately.
Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is a transformational practice. Using breath, mantra, postures, mudra, meditation and deep relaxation to enable you to look good and feel great. It is help purify, stimulate, and strengthen all the systems of the body, particularly the digestive, nervous, and glandular systems.
It is to elevate your soul and awaken your highest potential. The benefits of Kundalini Yoga are direct and quick, which makes it a perfect practice for the pace of a modern household. You do not need to be in perfect physical condition or share any particular belief system.
