Get to know your Teacher – Rachael

Each month we will bring you another intereview with a different yoga teacher from Gracefully Fit & Healthy. Thanks to Rachael for kicking us off. I hope you enjoy getting to know Rachael further.
  
Q1. how did you get started in yoga? Answer – My mum and I went to relaxacise( which was a conservative name for yoga) in a church hall with most of the participants coming from the neighbouring retirement home. I was 11 years old.
Q2. what was your experience of your first class? Did you enjoy it? Answer – Yes it was great Mum and me time. Relaxation was the best and also I could keep up with the rest of the class.
Q3. why did you decide to become a yoga teacher? I wanted to understand yoga more and understand why it felt so good to do and to share it
Q4. what has yoga bought to your life? The perfect fit. I am able to care and share with a great variety of people who benefit from yoga.
Q5. how does yoga affect your daily life? Yoga brings health, clarity, calm and acceptance into my life
Q6. do you have any wise words for people new to yoga? Approach yoga as an experiment its not about perfecting poses it’s to be experienced, explored and observed. Experiment with an open mind to the outcome.
Q7. in regards to teaching, what is your favourite class to teach?  Any class where there is people with enthusiasm.
Q8. do you have a funny story to share about your experience with yoga? Either as a class participant or a teacher.   Sorry no funny stories other then hanging out in a class with a bunch of farting nannas- and I kept going back!

Beginners Yoga Course 10 March

If you are considering taking up yoga, whether for stress reduction, to increase your flexibility or to improve your strength, the Beginners Course is a great place to start.

This course runs over 6 weeks and is designed to teach you the fundamentals of Hatha yoga (general). No experience necessary.

This Class starts with the foundations of yoga, teaching you the correct positioning for poses (Asana), breathing techniques (Pranayama), relaxation techniques including yoga nidra and an introduction to meditation.

Great for those new to yoga who want to learn the basics and also those looking to rediscover the fundamentals.

$102 for a 6 week course – Bookings required

Want to work at Gracefully Fit & Healthy?

We are currently looking for Casual staff to come and work with us at Gracefully Fit & Healthy.

The role involves

  • General shop duties including serving customers in a friendly and helpful way.
  • General cleaning and tidying of the shop
  • Reception duties – taking bookings and checking people into yoga classes

Requirements

  • Must have experience and knowledge of Traithlon, racing and training.
  • Must be friendly and helpful with customers
  • Must have general/basic computer knowledge
  • Must be prepared and open to be trained to increase your knowledge base, about products and our systems.
  • Experience in yoga, a bonus!
